Christ Gospel Ministry has a youth project called Future Generation Youth Club (FGYC). FGYC is an educational project, which encourages, supports and helps Black and Ethnic minority children by
giving them extra tuition in school subjects including English, Mathematics, moral studies, mother tongue (Yoruba) and other subjects in the key stage of the National Curriculum. FGYC also organises summer educational / play scheme for the children during the summer holidays.
FGYC Supplementary Schoool collects Major award
On Saturday 21st October 2000, FGYC received an award as a result of the external evaluation conducted by FOCUS, Central London, Investors in People National Quality Standard. The recognition panel considered the assessor's report on FGYC and officially recommmended that FGYC be recognised as an Investor in People.
FGYC is the first supplementary school ever to receive this important certificate of recognition and shield of quality assurance.
Last year the BBC's religious department visited the school and filmed them as an example of good practice and quality service of a Satuday school provider. The film was broadcast on the popular 'Heart of the matter' series.
FGYC was also recognised for the good work it achieves on Wednesday 25th October 2000 at the prestigious Community diversity awards 2000 at the Millenium Dome. Christ Gospel Ministry was
nominated to receive the community award by the Ethnic Business Development Corporation for their participation in community activities and the achievements that the ministry has made in the community since the ministry started 7 years ago.
